![]() ![]() I began this incredible journey some twelve years ago. At that time I was just finishing a commissioned piece
a carved replica of the Tao Mahal for the local Indonesian community. This piece was subsequently presented
to the City of Cornwall as a good will gesture from this same community.
My life in general was an admixture of past delusions relived in an ever increasing pattern of irrelevancy. Put simply I had reached the end of the road. These roads individually each had a message
to impart on my spirit. All these past roads led me to the Violin . The void was filled and has remained
so to this day.The Violin is a narrative of the makers life experiance.with one knife and no previous instruction in the craft I set out to unravel the secrets of the Violin. This was not to be just an exercise in metaphysics, this I would bring into the physical ,with the production of Thirty five instruments, completed ,using the techniques I discovered. The making of these instruments have brought me much self-satisfaction. I have received two financial awards from the Ontario Arts Council, numerous news articles inlocal news print . These, and other shows attended ,all reenforced that what I was doing was being noticed . I must say, although a bit taken a back by the responses , the driving force for me was the avenue this presented for me to touch an altered state of being and purpose. Truly the all embracing desire to proceed into a different reality once touched never unfelt.
